Which formats can I convert?

Why is my GIF file so large?

GIF is an old, uncompressed-by-modern-standards format. To keep files small, use a lower frame rate (10–15 fps), a smaller width (320–480 px), and pick a shorter clip. A 5-second 480px GIF at 15fps is usually 1–3 MB.

What do the dithering options mean?

GIFs are limited to 256 colors per frame. Dithering scatters those colors to fake smoother gradients. Sierra gives the best quality, Bayer produces smaller files with a subtle pattern, and None looks posterized but is smallest.

Is there a length limit?

Free users can convert clips up to 15 seconds and files up to 100 MB. Pro users get clips up to 2 minutes from source videos up to 32 GB. MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM files are read in sections — only the part you select is loaded — so even a long 4K recording works without filling your device's memory. Other formats fall back to loading the whole file, which works up to about 2 GB.

Can I make a GIF from a huge video file?

Yes. The tool reads only the seconds you select instead of the entire video, so pulling a 5-second GIF from a multi-gigabyte phone or camera recording usually starts within seconds. Your selection is snapped internally to the nearest key frame and then trimmed exactly, so the GIF starts where you chose.

By default, yes — GIFs are set to loop forever. Uncheck 'Loop forever' to play the animation only once.

Can I convert with sound?

No. The GIF format has no audio track — it's image frames only. If you need sound, keep the video as MP4 or WebM.
