What does 'lossless' mean here?

The tool uses stream copy (-c copy) — the video and audio are remuxed into a new file at the same bitrate, codec, and quality as the source. There is no re-encoding, so no quality is lost.

Which formats can I cut?

MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, and WebM. Anything ffmpeg can demux and remux without re-encoding will work.

Why doesn't my cut start on the exact frame I picked?

Lossless cutting can only start on a keyframe. FFmpeg snaps the start to the nearest keyframe at or before your selection so the output stays playable without re-encoding. For frame-exact cuts you'd have to re-encode, which is not lossless.

Is there a file-size or length limit?

Free users can cut videos up to 100 MB. Pro users are only limited by their browser's memory (typically a couple of GB). Everything is processed locally, so speed depends on your device.

Does the audio stay in sync?

Yes. Both video and audio streams are copied together and timestamps are normalized (-avoid_negative_ts make_zero) so the output plays cleanly from the first frame.
