How does the AI model work offline?

The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads a ~40 MB neural network (based on the same architecture as U²-Net / RMBG). It's then cached, so every following use is instant and works even without an internet connection.

Which images work best?

People, products, pets, and objects on a distinct background give the cleanest cutouts. Very fine detail like flyaway hair, transparent glass, or motion blur is where any background remover — including expensive paid ones — starts to struggle.

Can I make the background a solid color instead of transparent?

Yes. Switch the Background dropdown to Solid color and pick any hex value — great for passport photos, ID pictures, or ecommerce catalog shots that need a uniform white or brand-colored backdrop.

PNG or WebP for the output?

PNG is lossless and preserves the transparent background perfectly, but files are bigger. WebP is much smaller and also supports transparency — a good choice for the web if you don't need to hand the file to Photoshop.

Is there a file size or resolution limit?

Free users can process images up to 10 MB per file. Pro users are only limited by browser memory — 4K product shots and DSLR portraits work fine.

Can I remove backgrounds from many images at once?
