Why does the first use take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the cutout model (roughly 45 MB for the recommended option). It is then stored by your browser, so later photos start much faster.

Can I choose a different cutout quality?

Yes. The recommended option suits most photos. A sharper option is better for hair and fine detail but is a much larger download (about 180 MB) and slower. A lighter backup option is used automatically if the others fail on your device.

How do I fix rough or haloed edges?

Open the edge controls. “Edge cutoff” removes faint leftover background, “Shrink / grow” tightens the edge (positive) or brings back hair and detail (negative), and “Feather” softens the outline. Changes update the preview without running the cutout again, and “Reset edges” returns to the defaults.

Can I put a new background behind the subject?

Yes. Choose Transparent, a Solid color (handy for ID photos or white product shots), or Your own image — upload any picture and optionally blur it so the subject stands out.

PNG or WebP for the output?

PNG keeps full quality and transparency but makes bigger files. WebP also supports transparency, is much smaller, and has its own quality slider.

Which images work best?

People, products, pets and objects on a clearly different background give the cleanest results. Flyaway hair, glass and motion blur are hard for any automatic remover — try the sharper option and the edge controls there.

Can I remove backgrounds from many images at once?

Yes, on Pro. Drop many photos together; the same background and edge settings apply to all of them, and you can download each one or everything as a ZIP. On Free, only the first image is used.
